⚠ Most Important Rule — Read This First
Never cancel Noom Med before your new provider's medication has shipped with a confirmed tracking number. Canceling Noom Med ends your GLP-1 medication access immediately. A gap in weekly injections can interrupt your treatment progress. Complete every "Before You Cancel" checklist item before initiating cancellation.
⚠ Noom Med-Specific: Two Separate Subscriptions to Cancel
Noom Med may bundle two separate billing components: (1) the Noom Med medication subscription covering your semaglutide prescription and clinical oversight, and (2) the Noom app subscription covering daily CBT lessons, food logging, group coaching, and app access. These may be billed separately and require separate cancellation actions. Canceling one component does not automatically cancel the other. Before starting this checklist, log into your Noom account and confirm exactly which subscription components are active and how much each is billed.
What You Have With Noom Med — and What Changes When You Leave
Noom Med's Two-Component Structure
1
Medication subscription: Your semaglutide prescription, clinical oversight by Noom Med providers, dose management, and medication delivery. This is the GLP-1 treatment component. Canceling this ends your medication access.
2
Noom app subscription: Daily CBT-based food psychology lessons, the green/yellow/red food classification system, calorie logging, group coaching with other Noom users, and all app content. This is the behavioral coaching component. Depending on your plan, this may be a separate billing item.
!
What to check first: Log into your Noom account settings and identify: (a) how many subscription line items appear in your billing history, (b) whether they're billed together or separately, and (c) the specific cancellation path for each. This takes 5 minutes and prevents billing surprises at cancellation.
Timing Guide: The Correct Order of Operations
Noom Med Exit Timeline — Ideal Sequence
Day 1
Log into Noom account — identify all active subscription components and billing dates. Take a screenshot of your current medication (semaglutide or tirzepatide), weekly dose, and current plan status. Note how many doses you have remaining. Confirm you have at least 2–3 doses left before starting.
Day 1
Save any Noom app content you want to keep: take screenshots of your weight loss history, favorite lessons, meal logs, or behavioral notes. Once you cancel the Noom app subscription, access to this content ends. The app does not provide a data export function.
Day 1–2
Complete your new provider's intake (Luma Health: start.mylumahealth.com — 10–15 min). Specify your current semaglutide or tirzepatide dose and duration. Your Wasef Health, PC provider will match your current dose — no re-titration needed.
Day 2–4
Wasef Health, PC reviews and approves your intake (typically 24–48 hours). Prescription forwarded to VialsRX for preparation.
Day 7–14
VialsRX ships your medication (5–10 business days from approval). Do not cancel any Noom Med subscription until this tracking number arrives.
Day 14–16
Medication in hand. Cancel BOTH Noom Med components (medication + app subscription) per their separate processes. Get written confirmation of each cancellation with effective dates.
Next injection
Inject from your VialsRX vial at your current dose on your normal weekly schedule. No gap. No restart. Progress continues.
Phase 1 — Before You Start the Switch
● Identify all active Noom subscription components Noom-Specific
Log into Noom and check account settings → subscription or billing. Confirm: (a) is the Noom Med medication subscription billed separately from the Noom app? (b) what are the billing dates for each? (c) what is the cancellation process for each component? Some Noom Med plans bundle these; others bill separately.
● Note your current GLP-1 medication and dose Critical
Write down: semaglutide or tirzepatide, your current weekly dose (e.g., 1.0 mg/wk sema), and how long you've been stable at this dose. Take a photo of your current vial label. You'll enter this during your new provider's intake so they can prescribe at your current level without re-titration.
● Screenshot or save Noom app content you want to keep Noom-Specific
The Noom app does not provide a data export. Before canceling, screenshot: your weight loss progress graph, any lessons you want to reference later, meal log summaries if tracked, and any personal notes in the app. Once the app subscription cancels, this content is inaccessible.
● Confirm you have at least 2–3 weekly doses remaining Critical
The typical Luma Health timeline from starting intake to receiving VialsRX medication is 7–14 days. If you have fewer than 2 doses remaining, wait for your next Noom Med shipment before starting the switch to avoid any medication gap.
Phase 2 — Start With Your New Provider (While Still on Noom Med)
● Complete Luma Health's online intake Do Before Canceling Noom
Visit
start.mylumahealth.com. The intake takes 10–15 minutes. Enter your current GLP-1 type (semaglutide or tirzepatide), your exact weekly dose, and how long you've been at that dose. Wasef Health, PC will prescribe at your current dose — no restart needed.
● Await provider approval 24–48 hrs
Wasef Health, PC reviews your intake within 24–48 hours and forwards the prescription to VialsRX. You'll receive a notification when approved. During this window, continue your Noom Med injections on your normal schedule.
● Watch for VialsRX tracking email 5–10 business days
VialsRX ships within 5–10 business days of prescription approval with cold-chain packaging. You'll receive an email with a tracking number. This email is your signal that it's safe to initiate Noom Med cancellation. Save this email.
Phase 3 — Cancel Noom Med (Only After New Medication Ships)
● Cancel the Noom Med medication subscription After tracking arrives
Navigate to your Noom account settings → subscription management and cancel the medication subscription (Noom Med). The cancellation process may require contacting Noom support if a self-serve option isn't available in the app. Have your account information ready. Document the date and method of cancellation request.
● Separately cancel the Noom app subscription if billed separately Noom-Specific — Check First
If your Noom app subscription is a separate billing item, it requires a separate cancellation action. Do not assume that canceling the medication subscription also cancels the app subscription. Navigate to your Noom app's subscription settings (often under account → subscription or manage membership) and cancel independently.
● Get written email confirmation of both cancellations Critical
Request written email confirmation for each component you canceled, with the specific effective date. File both emails. These are your proof of cancellation if any unexpected billing occurs after cancellation. If the app subscription renews unexpectedly despite cancellation attempt, contact Noom support with your cancellation confirmation date and request a refund.
● Consider Noom's retention offer if received Optional
Noom support may offer a pricing reduction or plan change during cancellation. Evaluate any retention offer against Luma Health's pricing: $197/mo flat semaglutide, $297/mo flat tirzepatide, no app fee. If Noom offers to match or beat these prices for the medication component while retaining the coaching you use, it may be worth considering. If the offer still prices the medication component above Luma Health's rate, proceed with the switch.
Phase 4 — Start Your New Provider (After Medication Arrives)
● Inspect your VialsRX shipment on arrival On delivery
Check that the vial is intact, the liquid is clear and uncontaminated, and the packaging shows your name and prescribed dose. Refrigerate immediately (36–46°F / 2–8°C). Review the VialsRX administration instructions included with the shipment. Contact Luma Health support if anything appears damaged or missing.
● Set up free Noom app replacements Noom-Specific
If you used Noom's food tracking and CBT lessons: install MyFitnessPal (free) for food logging and calorie tracking. Bookmark r/semaglutide or r/Tirzepatide on Reddit for community support. Free CBT workbooks on eating psychology are available online if you found Noom's behavioral lessons valuable. These replace the functional parts of the app without the monthly subscription.
● Inject at your current dose on your normal weekly schedule No restart needed
On your next scheduled weekly injection day, draw your current dose from the VialsRX vial and inject subcutaneously. Inject at your current dose — same as what Noom Med was prescribing. The semaglutide molecule is pharmacologically identical from both sources. No adjustment period, no re-titration. Your progress continues.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to cancel the Noom app separately from Noom Med?
Potentially yes — this depends on your specific plan structure. Noom Med bundles GLP-1 medication with Noom's behavioral coaching app, but these components may be billed separately. Before initiating any cancellation, check your Noom account's billing and subscription section to identify all active charges. If you see two distinct line items (one for medication, one for Noom app access), both require separate cancellation actions. Getting written confirmation of each cancellation separately is essential — do not assume one cancellation covers both.
What happens to my Noom app data when I cancel?
When your Noom app subscription cancels, you lose access to the Noom app and all in-app content: your CBT lesson progress, food log history, weight tracking data, group coaching conversations, and behavioral notes. Noom does not provide a data export function in most plans. Before canceling, take screenshots of any content you want to preserve — particularly your weight progress graph and any personal behavioral insights you've captured. Start a new weight log (MyFitnessPal, Google Sheets, or a simple note) immediately after switching so you maintain continuity of your progress data.
Will I need to restart my semaglutide titration when switching from Noom Med?
No. Provide your current semaglutide dose during the Luma Health intake — your Wasef Health, PC provider will prescribe compounded semaglutide at that dose. No titration restart, no step-down from maintenance doses. The pharmacological equivalence of the molecule means your body tolerates your current dose regardless of which licensed platform prescribes it. The only scenario where a dose adjustment might be discussed is if you've had persistent side effects at your current dose that haven't resolved — which would be a clinical conversation at intake.
How do I cancel Noom Med's medication subscription?
Log into the Noom app and navigate to account settings → subscription management. Look for an option to cancel or manage your Noom Med membership. If a self-serve cancellation option isn't clearly available, contact Noom support directly through the app's chat or support email. State explicitly that you want to cancel your Noom Med medication subscription, effective as soon as possible. Request written email confirmation with the specific effective date. Cancel at least 5 to 7 days before your next billing date to avoid an additional charge.
What free tools replace Noom's CBT coaching after I switch?
The CBT-based content from Noom's app addresses food psychology, emotional eating patterns, and habit formation. Free alternatives that cover similar ground: free CBT workbooks for eating behavior available online (search "CBT workbook overeating free"); the book "Brain Over Binge" for psychology-based approaches to food relationships; YouTube content from licensed therapists specializing in eating behavior. For food tracking: MyFitnessPal (free tier) provides equivalent or better calorie and macro tracking. For community support: r/semaglutide, r/Tirzepatide, and r/loseit on Reddit are active, free, and peer-driven.
What's different about Luma Health compared to Noom Med?
The primary differences: Luma Health charges $197/month flat for semaglutide and $297/month flat for tirzepatide — no separate app fee, no dose-tier increases. Luma Health publicly names VialsRX (TX #35264) as the compounding pharmacy for independent verification. Luma Health has no contracts and no cancellation penalties. Luma Health does not include behavioral coaching or a CBT app — if you actively used and valued Noom's food psychology platform, that's the primary thing you give up by switching. If you rarely opened the Noom app, you were paying the coaching premium without the clinical benefit it was designed to provide.
