Galveston is the Galveston County seat on the upper Texas coast of the Gulf of Mexico. The City says it occupies virtually all of a 32-mile-long island about two miles off the mainland and about 50 miles southeast of Houston. It was chartered in 1839, developed as a major nineteenth-century port and immigration gateway, and retains nationally significant historic districts alongside Gulf beaches, the Port of Galveston, higher-education institutions, tourism, fishing, and health-sector employers. The U.S. Census Bureau estimates 53,636 residents as of July 1, 2025; the 2020 Census count was 53,695. Galveston is in the Houston–Pasadena–The Woodlands metropolitan statistical area and is part of the Houston–Galveston service area. Luma is telehealth for eligible Texas patients; this package identifies community resources only and does not claim a physical Luma location, clinic, provider credential, or medical outcome.
Online weight-management care in Galveston
Luma Health offers online medical weight-management evaluation to eligible adults in Texas. The service is virtual: Luma Health does not claim to operate a physical clinic in Galveston. A licensed clinician reviews each assessment and determines whether treatment is medically appropriate.
How the telehealth process works
- Complete the online assessment with accurate health and medication information.
- A licensed clinician evaluates eligibility and may request additional information or an in-person evaluation.
- If treatment is prescribed, medication can be shipped to the patient's address according to the current program terms.
- Follow-up remains part of provider-guided care; submitting an assessment never guarantees a prescription.
Start with a no-cost online assessment
Eligibility, medication choice, and prescribing decisions remain with the licensed clinician. Review current pricing, shipping, cancellation, and refill terms before enrollment.

These cited guides connect residents with recognized districts, walking routes, parks, local-food options, grocery planning, and public fitness resources. Each guide is written for the named market rather than generated by replacing a city name.
How local routines can support care
Walking routes, recreation programs, food-shopping options, sleep routines, and preventive care can complement—but do not replace—medical treatment. Discuss meaningful changes in diet, activity, or medication with an appropriate healthcare professional.
